stay or leave

I lived in an English picture postcard market town that slowly expanded with the motor industry .It expanded fuelled by worker pouring in from London .It was a picture of a wealthy  city full of glass and marble floors .
Image result for markets of the future cartoon

20years later as I walk through the litter strewn streets  I wonder whether I should pack up and leave town or stay and try and do something .I live in one of the better areas but slowly the area has become tired and dangerous .I often think about the big American cities Where the factories closed down .The infrastructure collapse the little shops and businesses that service the working families all went bankrupt.
The big money left first then the middle classes then the working guys could not sell their houses for a high enough price to get somewhere else
Or that bloke in Argentina that writes about the meltdown who says the ones who leave first get the best deals
As I watch the newspapers blow by I wonder is this the start of something bigger

Herb shampoo un axes

Shampoo un axes

Interesting conversation the other day .The obsession with guns knives and instruments to whack potential assailants is almost a hysterical compulsion with the survivalist mob
Then a young lady said to me “what about shampoo?“when civilisation collapses and my stash has been jumped by marauding zombies what will I do about shampoo.”
It’s a good question I suppose life goes on .So I have taken a look at basic needs .Stinging nettle is a good hair restorative it’s also good at making the hair stop falling out and regrow .So not only would she get a free shampoo but it could be rubbed on the head of passing bald marauders to make them feel better about themselves
It’s just a thought .She actually made the stinging nettle hair shampoo with little rosemary and I used it, two days later I needed a hair cut

Is it pretentious to keep ones butler after the apocalips

Is it pretentious to keep ones butler after the apocalypse?

I was only saying to my butler the other day at afternoon tea,”would he stay with me if I could not pay him.”Of course he said “yes”
So I thought instead of a wage packet with cash in it, its services instead of cash .Smithers supplies his services, supplying tea and biscuits at five o’clock. I supply other services to pay him.  So what do I supply in payment. Obviously a house, alright it won’t have a roof and probably a wall or two missing and I supply contacts and access to certain specialist people and protection.
It’s a bit like the super rich .They  actually do sod all and reap all the benefits while everyone else does the work.
So why does smither not say ,“screw you fat boy you serve me the tea and biscuits”

Conditioning ,thats all .....conditioning

We are not dead yet

Well the world has still not ended the system is still functioning .We have been through about six end of civilisation dates in the past couple of years and we are still here. Asteroids, the end of the Aztec calendar prophesies and what have you still haven’t finished me off  .So what can we do stand around twiddling our thumbs until the skies go dark and we can say told you so .No
We still have the herdon collider that massive particle collider to contend with and the final pope prophecies so there are a couple of disaster there waiting to happen .In the mean time the system continues to slowly spiral into the abyss .
I was thinking it probably will not be one big bang but a slow demise of the masses, watched over by the bus load of the richest people in the world slowly shaking their fat heads saying, there has to be a thinning down, a rationalising then we can start again .Of course we are the ones who get rationalised not them, Just as a foot note did you know that the people who have eighty five percent of the worlds wealth can be fitted onto a double Decker bus..The rest of us have to walk to our doom.
Anyway I can see a way forward and I will write about that next time .Pretty soon a large chunk of the London population will be living like the Victorians and they did ok. Didn’t they? It already looks like the nineteen fifties each time I go back to London they go back in time another five years .Beggars on the street ,stick ups street gangs, no cops, holes in the road and what have you.
